Exploration, Ideas’ Development, and Creativity:

The blog post was primarily based on my existing thesis. Claude was used to explore ways to condense and refine the content for a blog format. Open-ended questions were posed to identify key themes and structure the post effectively. For example, « How can we summarize this section while maintaining its core message? » The AI’s suggestions were critically evaluated, with ideas retained or excluded based on their relevance and impact.

Planning and Organization:

Claude assisted in restructuring the thesis content into a coherent blog post format. This involved a series of prompts to organize ideas, such as « Can you suggest a structure for this blog post that covers the key points of the thesis? » The AI’s suggestions were then refined based on personal judgment and the specific requirements of the blog format.

Writing and Articulation:

The AI was primarily used to refine and summarize existing content rather than generate new material. Prompts were used to improve clarity and conciseness, for example, « Can you suggest ways to make this paragraph more concise while retaining its key points? Please keep the insights of interviewees and my personal experience » The final writing maintained a personal tone and professional expertise, with AI suggestions carefully integrated and adapted.

Ethics, Sources, and Hallucinations: All content was based on the original thesis, with Claude used only for refinement and summarization. No new sources were introduced by the AI as instructed. Care was taken to maintain accurate representation of the original research and interviewee quotes. Any AI suggestions were cross-checked against the original thesis to prevent hallucinations or misrepresentations.

Examples of Prompts and Interactions:

  • « Can you combine these two paragraphs while maintaining the key points? »
  • « How can we shorten this section to fit a blog format while keeping the main ideas and most relevant examples? »
  • « Can you suggest a meta description for this blog post that captures its essence in about 150-160 characters? »

These prompts demonstrate how the AI was used to refine and adapt the existing content for a blog format, rather than generate new content. For example, the table was generated by Claude as a summary to other tables in the thesis, and the illustration is one that was designed on Canva by myself for the thesis that I repurposed for the blog post.

Thus, this methodological note reflects the use of AI in creating the blog post, primarily for refinement and summarization of existing thesis content.
