Le concept de live vidéo est né en 2015 avec l’outil Periscope de Twitter. Souvenez-vous, cette application permet de filmer, en direct, via son smartphone, ce qui nous entoure. L’application Periscope fonctionne à l’image d’un réseau social avec la création d’un compte utilisateur et le principe de « followers ».

Selon le média Content Shaker, 1,2 milliards d’utilisateurs utiliseraient la fonctionnalité live chaque mois sur toutes les plateformes confondues.

Depuis Periscope de Twitter, d’autres réseaux sociaux ont adopté la tendance en ajoutant la fonctionnalité live vidéo à leur application. En effet, Facebook est la deuxième plateforme à inclure la fonctionnalité en 2016 suivi les années suivantes par Instagram et Youtube.

2020 : l’année du live

Ces dernières années, on observe l’explosion de l’utilisation du format vidéo avec la montée des plateformes de streaming comme Netflix, le streaming live des jeux vidéo ou encore le réseau social TikTok uniquement basé sur le contenu vidéo. On estime que d’ici 2021, le live pourrait représenter 13% du trafic vidéo.

Pendant la période de confinement, le nombre de diffusion de live vidéo sur Instagram a augmenté de façon conséquente depuis mars 2020. L’audience a également suivi puisque celle-ci a été multipliée par deux. Les créateurs de contenus et les marques ont en effet observé que le live était le meilleur format pour continuer d’interagir avec sa communauté. En effet, ce format est plus spontané, il permet l’échange et le débat. Ainsi, on pouvait aisément prendre des cours de danse et de chant avec Christine and the Queen ou encore faire sa séance de sport quotidienne avec Sissymua suivie par plus de 60000 personnes en direct sur son live.

Vous l’avez compris, en 2020 on ne passera pas à côté de la tendance du live vidéo sur les réseaux sociaux qui permet notamment de fédérer et fidéliser une communauté de façon virtuelle mais authentique.
