Facebook et moi, c’était une grande histoire d’amour depuis une bonne dizaine d’années maintenant. Mais ces temps-ci, il m’a beaucoup déçue. Aujourd’hui, c’est l’heure de la rupture.

Souviens-toi, je relayais toutes les chaînes de ce type qui passaient sur ton réseau. Grâce à toi, j’avais des centaines d’amis. Je partageais tous les bons moments passés IRL avec eux et ma famille. Je publiais sur mon mur régulièrement sur des sujets capitaux, tels que « Regardez la nouvelle vidéo de Norman, trop marrante LOL ». Et je m’appliquais pour changer régulièrement de photo de profil et de photo de couverture. Tu m’as appris à « liker » en masse. Je likais toutes les pages que je trouvais. Et d’ailleurs, pas toujours les plus utiles…

On a vraiment passé de bons moments depuis 2010. En plus, j’ai récemment vu que tu essayais vraiment de te rapprocher de mes valeurs, en étant aussi green que possible. Mais cela ne suffit pas.

Mais aujourd’hui tu as changé. Tu es devenu comme un ex un peu collant, qui tente de gratter un peu d’attention de ma part. Tu n’as jamais rien de nouveau à raconter, mon fil d’actualité est devenu désert. Plus personne ne t’utilise autant qu’avant. A part peut être ma grand-mère et quelques marques qui n’ont pas encore compris que tout se passait sur Twitter et TikTok. OK boomer.

On le sait, dans une relation, la confiance c’est LA BASE. Or, aujourd’hui 60% des américains ne font pas confiance aux informations qu’ils lisent sur Facebook. Les fameuses fake news ont fait des ravages sur ton réseau. J’ai un peu l’impression que tu abuses de ma confiance. Je partage tant d’informations avec toi, mais tu ne me le rends pas toujours.

Aussi, avec tous les soucis entre ton CEO et la justice, on peut honnêtement dire que ta réputation en a pris un coup. Avec ton ami Cambridge Analytica, tu as sérieusement baissé dans mon estime. Tu me prends par les sentiments et tu t’en sers pour me manipuler ? Pour influencer mon vote ? Modifier mon comportement ? Ce n’est pas ça pour moi une relation saine.

Avant, on n’était pas productifs ensemble. Mais ce n’était pas grave ! Je passais des heures avec toi au lieu d’avancer sur mes devoirs, et j’adorais ça. Aujourd’hui, tu me fais simplement perdre mon temps. Sur mon portable, tu es comme une application fantôme. J’ai toujours l’espoir de recevoir une notification de ta part qui me divertirait suffisamment. Et puis finalement…

…C’est très souvent décevant.

Enfin, il y a la question de mon entourage. Ta relation avec eux n’est plus non plus comme avant. Même mes stars préférées comme Jim Carrey te boycottent via le #DeleteFacebook. Tu deviens donc difficile à cautionner, comme partenaire.
