NFT Paris 2024: Discovering the Future of Web3 and Digital Transformation Together

This year, I took my first steps into the world of Web3, and it’s been quite the journey. The NFT Paris event made me realize why businesses and communication must get digital.

 

In their report « What is Web3? » McKinsey & Company defines Web3 as a vision for a new, decentralized internet underpinned by blockchain technology—a collective ledger its users maintain. A 2022 survey by Harvard Business Review highlighted a significant knowledge gap, with nearly 70% of over 50,000 respondents admitting their unfamiliarity with Web3. That’s a lot!

 

The event brought together enthusiastic experts who knew the latest Web3 trends. Certain highlights resonated with me deeply among the many projects showcased, from metaverses to blockchain innovations.

I saw something cool from Open Campus, next to The Sandbox area, when I walked in. Having worked on a project on creating MBADMB Academy in Sandbox, I felt a connection to this sector. Open Campus is revolutionizing education through Web3 technologies with the launch of Open Campus ID—a unique .edu identifier empowering learners to control their educational data and customize their learning journeys. Furthermore, the Open Campus Accelerator (OC-X) is set to invest $10 million in integrating 100 educational startups into its ecosystem, catalyzing innovation, and broadening educational horizons. Another captivating aspect was the exploration of well-being within the metaverse. GEAVERSE offers an impressive glimpse into online therapy, showcasing the potential of digital treatments that are necessary to foster mental health improvement due to the challenges posed by decreased physical activity and social interaction. Engaging with their team was highlighted, revealing the critical need for psychological support within virtual spaces.

 

The insights speakers Anne Bracegirdle and Joanna Rindell from Absolute Labs shared were particularly enlightening. They delved into utilizing Web3 marketing tools to drive revenue, highlighting strategies such as Wallet Tracker SDKs, on-chain data analytics, segmentation engines, and targeted outreach campaigns. Their presentation illustrated the transformative potential of Web3 in crafting personalized, engaging marketing campaigns.

 

The cohesion of art, technology, and commerce was straightforward. Numerous digital artworks and brands demonstrated adaptability in this new era, ensuring brand relevance through digital innovation.

In conclusion, the program of the NFT Paris Conference 2024 covered a wide range of topics related to NFTs and blockchain. The sessions included keynotes, panels, and interactive workshops. Various themes were addressed, ranging from the impact of NFTs in fashion and art to technological advancements in gaming and data security. It was my first time at an NFT event, but I’m already looking forward to next year’s. It is impressive to see how fast Web3 is growing and changing in many areas.
